“The kick that the left really needed “ are the words of one of the protesters. These are high hopes that will not be realized. Who are these Occupy Philly people? What do they stand for? Who do they represent? Let’s take a look.

bc liberitarians got it sooo right?

First lets acknowledge this for what it is, an outsider that completely misses the point of the novement,, once again, using one or two selected interviews to attempt to paint a picture of the thousands of other different vouces it actually consists of. That being said lets look the author of the articles true intebtions. What is a liberitarian ? One who believes liberty is paramount. Sounds great right? Each individuals freedom to do whatever they wish as long as it doesnt harm others. Sounds great right? And very simular to some of our beliefs. And That the govt,s role is to govern with as little impact(beit neg or pos) on individuals lives. A party right now being mostly lead by dr ron paul. Who fiscally is a brilliant man, and foriegn policy is also simular to ours . That military is for defense not expantion. I know this not as a paul supporter, to which this post most likely is, but bc a close friend is very much so and thus i did them the respect as looking into his life. i began to question, why if we hold so much in common in beliefs, was this friend so vehimately against occupy? A grass roots movement , of the people , for the people, by the people, against the corruption of our govt, that pasionately demands change. This is much the ideas the original tea party was formed. Before it was quickly co opted immediately upon trying to join the political arena.... And thats the difference. Liberitarians believe that the changes they seek can be obtained through politics alone. That if ron paul were ellected, things would change, this conflicts with many of our views that politics is too bought and paid for to institute the sweeping changes we seek. The libs that i know constantly bring the same questions of the occupy movement as the gop zombies, bc as part of the political scene they are prone to the same lines of thinking amongst all political parties that any movement outside of politics threatens to draw voters from their party. And completely miss the idea of the movement that people have been trying to create change in govt through infultrating it for decades, and what good has it done? And if u actually do "know all the answers" and theses "ignorant" protestors are wrong, then you are welcome to come on down to philly, or anywhere else and educate the public. Your knowledge is welcome. But if ur beliefs and intentions are based on a desire to simply keep votting is the answer, ur speaking to those that have moved past that belief. Glad even this is given the freedom of speach here, looking forward to rest of responses

Good to know, for any

Good to know, for any movement truely based on the collective knowledge of the people to thrive, respect for all opinions must come first so all can be heard. Just saying an article claiming occupy is missing the true facts based on a handfull of people is flawed , ive also seen people at occupies wanting to end capitalism, or free college, or healthcare, or no war, or more reaganomics, or more fdr, communists, democrats, anarchists, activists, pacifist, homeless, disabled, more govt , less govt. While To take any of these and label the movement by it is possible, it misses the very point of the movement, that all ideas should be heard, good and bad, realistic or impossible. Only then when all ideas are heard and discussed can a true informed concensus b reached. And if more people understood that, the majority of criticisms about whos co opting who, and what occupys really about and want would disappear once they realise that if u dont feel ur represented as a member of 99%, participate, and here ur voice actually will be heard. Also i believe the paul people will flock to us in numbers once the gop nomination is awarded
