“Why not just sign the permit?” one persons explanation:

Occupy Philly was repeatedly pestered by the national parks service to pretty please sign a permit application to stay on independence mall with our two symbolic tiny tents, our signs and our info table. The General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to NOT sign anything. Speaking only of my own opinions and those of some others I overheard some of the reasons for not supporting signing the permit are as follows.

occupy philly's palm sunday march against modern day pharoahs followed by an outdoor alternative justice seder and food distribution went well yesterday.

Muslim, Jewish and Christian clergy offered prayers in front of the philly stock exchange, governor corbett's office and city hall.

several other secular organizations made speeches about modern day examples of the oppression of the 99%.

My video from the Philadelphia board of health public hearing on the proposed bans on sharing food in public. this was shot before the city upped the ante and created a crisis by blocking further entry of the public into the hearing with a barricade of armed bicycle cops.

“You've Got to be Kidding Right?! - The City of Brotherly Love Reveals its True Face in More Ways than One.”

We gathered in front of The Municipal Building of Philadelphia around 4 pm March 15th 2012 in order to attend a public hearing before the city board of health which was presented as an opportunity for  the citizenry of Philadelphia to express their opinions concerning the proposed new law that would make giving away free food in the city of Philadelphia a crime punishable by a $150 fine.
